Georgianna is wearing a grey and white dotted boucle suit with black trim and square buttons. She accessorized with a sparkly camisole and some awesome beads. Feeling frisky, she opted for a pop of color! The burgundy accessories add some pizzazz to this awesome basic. Serena van der Woodsen would totally envy this chic look.

Burgundy fur felts are so in! Sorry, Blair – Serena gets it.

White always looks crisp, classic, and chic. Add an architectural collar, with black accents and mod buttons, this boucle suit is elevated to the next level. Ashley is sporting a matching cloche jazzing up the ensemble thanks to some feathers and flowers. Add some white kid gloves, and you are set to shine in the Mardi Gras stands. Chanel would surely approve!

Hey there, Himani. This navy blue boucle suit has been such a hit this Homecoming season. The body conscious cut, snazzy gold buttons, and multiple lapel collar is a very youthful take on the traditional suit. Pair it with a custom statement hat- you are sure to turn heads. Even your own!

Forget Molly, this girl is pretty in pink. Madison strikes a fierce pose in this baby pink boucle suit with white Swiss dots. With a fit that great, move over ladies, I’m taking the field! A matching fur felt hat and sweet fresh water pearls compliment this suit perfectly. Perfect for Homecoming and Mardi Gras events- or both!

No worries – all suits and hats are registered so that no girl will be wearing the same outfit at her respective homecoming. As always, all alterations are complimentary. We ensure that your experience will be great. Hope to see you soon!

A Jewelry Uniform

“The only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize.”

-Clairee Belcher, Steel Magnolias (1989)

While clothes are undoubtedly an outward expression of one’s personality, accessories take that expression one step further. A woman’s jewelry aesthetic is indicative of her habits and fetishes; whether you’re dedicated to a pair of dainty diamond earrings, or an armful of chunky bracelets, accessories are the cherry on top of any outfit.

Here at Yvonne LaFleur we carry a treasure trove of accessories for every occasion and demeanor. Whether you’re a Clairee or a Ouiser or a Truvy , you’re bound to find an accessory that catches your eye. We’ve got something for you… even if pink isn’t your signature color. 😉

They’re chunky, they’re funky – we’re such fans here.

“Pearls, diamonds, and silver, oh my!” This classy piece is perfect for anything ranging from a bridal trousseau to dinner with your beau.

And now we have the lovely Georgianna giving us a small peak into our wide array of ear-wear! Delicate, casual, and bold – these pieces will definitely make a statement.

Yvonne LaFleur’s Ball Gowns

With the Debutante season upon us and Mardi Gras around the corner we thought it was high time to showcase some of our beautiful exclusive gowns. We had two of the girls at the store model four gowns each to show a sampling of our extensive collection. Continue reading to see the results!

This sea foam green gown may possess the thin straps and fit of a slip dress, but the stunning beadwork and embellishment elevate this gorgeous piece to something befitting a mermaid’s dreams. Sequins, crystals, and beading absolutely encrust this gown in such a way as to make the wearer glow; the deep neckline and back add to the overall jaw-dropping effect.

Here we have a marvelous satin trumpet gown that features a thick-banded halter, sparkling crystal embellishment at the bust, asymmetrical seaming over the fitted skirt, and beautiful small train.

A minimalist-chic strapless column, reminiscent of Oscar de la Renta, beautifully fitted with a graphic black and white print that both slims and elongates the body.

This structured, high-waisted column makes a definitive Art Deco statement. Black and gold beading at the bodice lend a beautiful textural effect and plenty of shine, while the jet sequins on the floor-length skirt catch the light as the wearer moves.

This gracefully minimalist gown flatters the figure with elegant white and navy color-blocking that both slims and elongates. The high neckline and seamed waist add to the understated beauty of this already soigné crepe-jersey column.

A subtly stunning column dress, made even more alluring by the addition of a floor-length cape that flows from slightly off the shoulders in such a way as to recall the stylings of Tom Ford. Shown modeled in a lovely winter white, this gown’s crepe-style jersey fabric has a gorgeous fluid drape on the figure.

A truly unusual but delicately beautiful champagne dress, with a soft v-neckline and a bodice showcasing heavy tonal embroidery in the form of blush arabesques that call to mind the Art Nouveau movement, while a beaded empire waist lends sparkle to an already magical garment. The overall silhouette of the gown hearkens to the silver-screen glamor of the 30s and 40s, with a gently body conscious fit to the hip, where the skirt suddenly flows free and straight to the floor. The addition to the skirt of untethered organza strips creates a beautifully dramatic effect when the wearer is in motion, meaning this is the perfect dress for nights of dancing and celebration.

This simple but subtly glamorous strapless ice blue satin gown features a sculpted bodice, slightly nipped waist, and an understated A-line skirt for a universally flattering silhouette. The intricate grey and crystal beading calls to mind both peacock feathers and snowflakes, making this a dress fit for any aspiring Snow Queen

Yvonne LaFleur’s Homecoming Suits & Hats

Homecoming is around the corner and we have in a beautiful selection of exclusive suits for the young ladies of the court to wear. We had some of the girls at the store model two suits each to show a sampling of our extensive collection. Continue reading to see the results!

Starting from the left we have Saige in a 60’s mod skirt suit with a geometric pattern, color-blocked on the sides for a figure flattering silhouette. We paired this suit with an adorable cloche hat trimmed with a satin ribbon to give it a fresh young twist. Next to Saige we have Katy modelling another skirt suit. This option is silk in a wondeful vibrant lime, and underneath we put a cream silk high necked blouse. To polish off this look we added an Audrey Hepburn hat.

Ashley on the left here is wearing a winter white tweed suit trimmed with silver braid to give it another layer of sophistication. This suit would be great for a Homecoming or Mardi Gras Queen as it is fit for royalty! Underneath it we put one of our navy shimmery tanks. Saige is modelling the inverse of Ashley in a royal blue fitted suit with a white square neckline blouse underneath. The suit boasts a traditional blazer and can be accented with gold, white, red or black. It’s perfect for a senior in highschool and would be very suitable to bring to college for career wear. Both girls are sporting a white cloche with detailed ornamentation that gives them an extra bit of sparkle.

Next we have Katy in a pink and irisdescent gold fitted jacket with a line box pleat skirt. This outfit is very 60’s and fun for a young girl to wear, and pairing it with a cami trimmed with brown lace acts as the ideal complementation. Her hat is a felt brown side derby that gives the look flare. For Ashley this time we opted for a classic aqua and tan tweed suit with four box pockets on the jacket. The shirt is a fun addition with the feathered design around the neckline that gives the outfit a modern take and can easily be worn with other outfits. Ashley is also in another felt hat, we feel the material to be good for the fall especially as it can help lighter colored outfits be seasonally appropriate.

Last but not least we have Mignon modelling one of our striking power suits. This is a very body conscious and fitted suit with a high neckline and buttons on one side to give it that modern assymetrical aspect. We added a classic wide brim black felt hat to complete her outfit.

Yvonne LaFleur’s take on Kate Middleton

When Katie Najder came in to the store last week stating Kate Middleton as her fashion icon we knew it was the perfect opportunity to put a shoot together showing our take on Kate’s style! Katie graciously agreed to be our model and we managed to put together seven outfits, now published here for your pleasure:

photo 2photo 1

From left to right: Kate this past June in a military-chic shirt and skirt outfit by Alexander McQueen. We put Katie in our equally sophisticated but youthful white and sheer cardigan with a fitted black pencil skirt and our iconic Audrey hat. Kate in June of 2012 in another Alexander McQueen outfit, a stunning white dress suit that she wore to the Order of the Garter ceremony at Windsor Castle. Katie is wearing our shapely white cotton pique suit with its matching shell, an Art Deco Ben-Amun brooch, with a Yvonne LaFleur original custom made headpiece; she is carrying a lovely navy and white handbag unique to YLF. Lastly we have Kate in September of 2012 at the Kranji War Memorial in Singapore wearing a duck egg blue pleated shirt dress. Katie is seen here wearing a similarly fluid silk dress in pale taupe, the simplicity of which is set off by the very New Orleans ornamentation of a beaded evening clutch.

Here Kate Middleton is recycling the same classic navy blazer and skinny jeans for a smart yet casual look. We put Katie in our our unlined navy and white terry-cloth blazer, a simple but fitted white tee, and Yvonne LaFleur’s phenomenal stretch trousers in navy. We chose to accent this casually classic outfit with the utilitarian glamour of a fawn suede Onezieme envelope clutch.

For this years Easter Sunday Kate wowed in an elegant dove grey Alexander McQueen coat dress in Sydney, Australia. We paired our fitted Roma sheath in black with a white dress coat threaded through with silver for a hint a sparkle. The pearls are Ben-Amun and the hat is a custom millinery masterpiece by Yvonne LaFleur, note the distinctive architectural brim.

In Hollywood while at the BAFTAs Kate stayed true to Alexander McQueen in this gorgeous floor length pleated lilac chiffon gown. For an evening look Katie was styled in a floor length greige gown with crystal embellishment at the neck and waist for a modern take on the traditional full coverage evening looks of the royals. Her handbag is modeled a vintage style popular during the roaring twenties, and her ears are sporting a pair of dramatic barrel clips.

We saved the best for last with Kate’s iconic Sarah Burton wedding dress that managed to combine tradition and modernity with breathtaking results. Our take on the McQueen by Burton was a chiffon and lace sweetheart gown with elbow length sleeves and a high neckline. We paired this with a veil edged with eyelash lace called ‘Kate Middleton’ for it’s similarity to the original piece. To top it all off we added a delicate tiara and pearl and rhinestone ear drops.
